Large,comfortable Studio for 2 persons(or 4 including annex) with all mod cons, in restored outhouses of Helios Castle, with own pool and large terrace,gardens,400 m from village/restaurant, 2km from town supermarkets, 30 mins drive to beach, 90 mins to the snow, 1 hr from Granada airport, 2hrs from Malaga/Almeria airport.

Thick walls and high atelier ceiling and a/c give the Studio summer cool and winter warm. The Studio is a 50 sq mtrs suite in the outhouses of Helios Castle. A detached second twin bedroom cum shower etc (30 sq ms approx) is also available, separately. The Studio is set near the Castle with its terraced gardens of vines, citrus and fruit orchards, and fine views over the valleys of olive and almond groves to the villages and foothills of the Sierra Nevada.

Other Details

The Cottage was built in about 1932 to house the servants of Helios Castle,nearby. It was restored in 1999 and is now shaded by a long terrace of high hanging vines and an esplanade of palm trees. Three entertaining writers have described life in the surrounding Alpujarras: the classic C19th Spaniard, Pedro Ruiz de Alarcon:Journey through the Alpujarras (1870s); Gerald Brennan -(of Bloomsbury Group connections)South from Granada (1920s);Chris Stewart: Driving over Lemons (and its 2 sequels: life around Orgiva in 1990 - today). All well worth a previsit read; available in English paperback. Human night life:Orgiva boasts 10 discos. Fiestas - ie free eats and dancing available - somewhere within 20 mile range most nights in July-August.
